The first award was granted to the Jardim das Luzes (Garden of Lights) collection, a limited edition of three soaps with decorative embellishments, featuring holographic, luminous and metallic effects that appear reflected in the shells of insects pictured in the packaging. Launched on Christmas 2017, the artwork was created by Feito Brasil’s art director, Elisa Riemer, and inspired by Christmas lights.

ABRE revealed the decision to award the Company of the Year prize to Feito Brasil was made based on its 14-year history, during which the company committed to work with locally-sourced raw materials and a management model that values nature and women.

In her speech at the awards ceremony, Lena Peron, founder of Feito Brasil, restated the reasons behind her choice to maintain the company’s handmade, sustainable manufacturing model and the support of a network of local suppliers. “We still have a long way to go and we look to the other nominated companies as inspiration,” she says. “The award is an acknowledgment that we can make products that are as good as those of the big brands, only in a smaller scale, but without giving up on what sets us apart as an organization.

Feito Brasil currently has 28 employees who manufacture more than 70 different products at an average of 21,000 items every month. They can be found at Sephora - through its e-commerce channel, stores and pop-up shops - Drogaria Onofre drugstore chains, luxury SPAs and hotels, and at Feito Brasil’s e-commerce site. Exports are also in the company’s plans.

Peron highlighted the role of women in supporting Feito Brasil’s growth. "It’s not a passing fad. We have 28 employees and 100% of our manufacturing team is made of women from the city of Mandaguaçu, where our headquarters are based. This is our contribution to encourage women to carve out their space in the workplace,” she says.
